ATMC Recognized in Columbus County People’s Choice Awards

Whiteville, NC – ATMC has been recognized for providing the Best in Customer Service, Best in Internet Service and Best in Cable TV in the News Reporter’s 2020 “Best of Columbus” People’s Choice Awards. This is ATMC’s first-time receiving recognition through the News Reporter’s People’s Choice Awards program where readers in Columbus County cast their votes for their favorites in a variety of categories.

“Our employees go the extra mile each day to give value to our customers and we are excited to be recognized in these three categories,” said Keith Holden, ATMC CEO. “To better serve ATMC’s growing customer base in Columbus County, we’ve opened a customer experience store on Highway 130 in Whiteville and we’re working hard to expand our services to more new areas of Columbus County.”

ATMC began offering service to Columbus County in 2010, when they received grant funds to build a fiber optic network to serve residents and businesses in the communities of Guideway, Nakina and Old Dock. More recently, ATMC has expanded its fiber network to serve south Whiteville and the Town of Brunswick. ATMC also completed a fiber optic project in July, through grant funds made available through North Carolina’s GREAT Grant program, which made service available to more than 1,200 homes in the Beaverdam community.

Construction efforts are also underway to bring ATMC’s fiber optic delivered high speed internet service to more areas of Columbus County including Fair Bluff, Boardman, Tabor City, Hallsboro, Bolton, Buckhead, Lake Waccamaw, and other areas north of Whiteville. This work is expected to be completed within the next two years.

“We knew there was a need for fast, reliable internet service in Columbus County and our team at ATMC has worked tirelessly to find ways to serve residents and businesses, especially in the more rural areas,” commented Holden. “We are proud of the progress we’ve been able to make through the help of grants and we are thankful for the Columbus County customers who’ve trusted us as their Internet and Cable TV provider.”
