SOFTWARE DEVELOPER


ATMC , North Carolina’s largest communications cooperative, is currently seeking a Communication Services Specialist (CSS). ATMC is located along the beautiful Atlantic coast in Brunswick County, N.C., halfway between Wilmington, N.C. and Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The Software Developer designs, codes, tests, and maintains ATMC’s application software and programs. Prepares program documentation and materials for users. Works with users to ensure programs perform to specifications. The Software Developer reports to the Manager, Software Development.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Knowledge of programming languages: Java, JavaScript, RPG, .Net.
  • Experience using Eclipse based IDE strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of computer operating systems, hardware and peripheral equipment.
  • Knowledge of company policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of company products and services.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications billing, customer service and plant functions.
  • Skill in operating various computer equipment and programs.
  • Skill in operating various office equipment such as personal computer, copier, fax, and telephone system.
  • Skill in problem solving and resolution.
  • Skill in reading and interpreting technical documents and information.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
  • Ability to communicate with customers, co-workers, and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ability to effectively evaluate software packages and programs.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work assignments.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Ability to makes sound decisions using information at hand.
  • Ability to receive and react to constructive criticism from the peer review and QA workflows.

Minimum Qualifications, Education, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent software development experience required.
