ATMC Awarded Best in Customer Service for the 12th Year

Shallotte, NC - This week, ATMC was recognized as “Best in Customer Service in the Brunswick Beacon' 2020 Best of Brunswick Awards. This is the cooperative's twelfth consecutive year receiving the recognition. The accolade is part of the Beacon’s Reader's Choice program where readers cast their votes for their favorites in a variety of categories.

Our ATMC team members go above and beyond each day to earn the trust of our customers by providing an uncompromised level of customer service,” said Keith Holden, ATMC CEO. “It’s something all of us take very seriously and this recognition is proof of our commitment to our customers.”

In addition to providing award winning customer service, over the past year ATMC worked to upgrade services to improve the overall customer experience. The cooperative redesigned its billing statement to make it easier to read and understand, introduced online chat to engage customers in real-time, implemented a seven-day repair calendar and began offering Saturday installation options to better accommodate members’ busy schedules.

ATMC also completed several network upgrades and expansion efforts in order to better serve existing customers and new customers. These initiatives brought faster internet, with speeds of up to 300 Mbps, to 4,000 of the cooperative’s most rural customers and allowed ATMC to replace the aging copper network serving customers on Ocean Isle Beach and Holden Beach with fiber optic technology. ATMC also expanded to make fiber optics available to nearly 10,000 residents living in south Whiteville, Caswell Beach and Oak Island. Additionally, the cooperative began a project to upgrade the network serving more than 3,000 residents and businesses in Boiling Spring Lakes with fiber optics.

“ATMC makes it a priority to invest in this community and it’s why we continue to strive to provide the best in customer service,” said Keith Holden, ATMC CEO. “This year marks our sixty-fifth year of service and we’re getting better every day.”
